Last night some of music's finest gathered to recognize those behind the hits. The ASCAP is about the songwriters, composers, producers and more. Justin Timberlake's BFF Timbaland cleaned up with nine awards including songwriter of the year. Fergie and Gwen Stefani tied for song of the year and Lionel Richie was recognized with ASCAP's Golden Note Award. Nicole looked beautiful posing with her dad and sassy little sister. She continues to prove she is more focused on family life than a good party although from the look on JT's face this was a pretty fun event.

Fergie is already all over the Grammy events. After announcing the nominees at the ceremony yesterday, she was there for the kickoff party last night in LA. Sadly, her hot man Josh was nowhere to be seen, but she and Ne-Yo got cozy on the red carpet instead. Meanwhile, Garcelle Beauvais-Nilon looks fabulous after giving birth to twins in October. On the red carpet Lauren Conrad (in a hot little red number, a break from her usual LBD) talked about the season finale of The Hills, which airs this Monday. She said,

"I gotta be honest, I haven’t seen the final episode yet. . . I know that something happens in our lives, but I don’t know what they’re showing. . . Something very exciting happens in my life. I can’t tell you what, obviously, because it has to air, but it was a life-changing something.”

Paris? Something with Brody? I guess we'll have to wait and see, but that won't be the end since the girls just signed on for another season which you guys seem pretty excited about.

Last night Nick Lachey, Ashley Tisdale and Al Roker hosted the tree lighting ceremony at Rockefeller Center in NYC. The beautifully lit backdrop included performances from Celine Dion, Natasha Bedingfield, Tony Bennett and Josh Groban. NBC stars Brooke Shields came out to promote Lipstick Jungle while Jason Lee plugged his family film Alvin and the Chipmunks. The coolest thing about the evening was finding out that this year's tree has "gone green" by using energy-efficient LED lights. What a great new tradition to incorporate this holiday season. All sorts of random celebrities came out on Thursday night for the La Dolce Vita Benefit for the Sarah Ferguson Foundation at Cipriani in NYC. The original Fergie happily posed on the red carpet with an equally excited Brandy and Natasha Bedingfield. LL Cool J asserted his status as number one. Meanwhile, what happened to Jason Lewis' hotness? Where did it go? Hopefully it'll be back in full Absolut Hunk mode in the Sex and the City movie. I wonder if Natasha sang the song that will forever be The Hills theme song in my mind? Fun times.
