Last night the stars got cultured at the Whitney Museum American Art Gala in NYC. A beautiful Christina Ricci and Emma Roberts stayed on trend in their dark and stormy dresses while Nick and Mariah were red carpet ready as usual. Becki Newton lightened things up a little in her busy pattern, but from the color palette across the board the darker months have hit Manhattan. Donatella Versace helped throw the party and had some man candy on her arm, the face of her line Patrick Dempsey, for the night. The theme of this year's gala was "Whitney — Past, Present and Future" but seeing the star studded red carpet the art wasn't the only exciting sight last night.

The ladies glowed on the red carpet at the SAGs last night, but no show would be complete without a few fashion blunders. You guys are loving Marion Cotillard's look for best dressed of the night, but tell us — who deserves to be named worst dressed?
Jennifer Hudson, Linda Evangelista and Kerry Washington were just a few of the fashionistas that celebrated at the Fashion Group International's Night of Stars in NYC on Thursday night. The theme of the night was "The Rule Breakers" and the event honored designers that included Jean Paul Gaultier. He described it best when he said, "[The rules] are only the reflection of what’s happening in life, in society, so there are no real rules in fashion.” The ladies of the event showed just that with their varying looks, so which rule-breaking look is your favorite?
Lots more photos from this very fashionable event including Joan Jett, Jane Krakowski so just
Blake Lively and her on-screen mom Kelly Rowland hit the pink carpet at the Viva La Cure Benefit for Women's Cancer Research last night in NYC with other stars like Amanda Peet and Brooke Shields. Gossip Girl may be just getting started, but Blake is already feeling the effects of her newfound celebrity. As the November cover girl for CosmoGirl, Blake talked about getting up close and personal with some of Hollywood's finest. She said,
"It is a crazy and completely insane business. I'll go to an event wearing some designer gown and tens of thousands of dollars in jewels that were lent to me for the night, and I'll walk around and meet people who I always thought were such a big deal."
She even talks about Brad Pitt's poo. I can't wait to read the rest of the interview and see where it goes. As for getting to wear all those fabulous clothes on and off the set — sounds rough . Speaking of which, Fab's got a fun fashion quiz and info on all the clothes you saw on last night's episode, including Serena's gorgeous date night dress! If you were more enthralled with the kids' fancy gadgets, Geek challenges you to test your knowledge with her Gossip Girl tech quiz.
Broadway's First Couple, Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick were out for the opening of the new musical Curtains in NY last night. Off the stage and screen, SJP is gearing up for another big premiere -- her new fashion line Bitten. Though the public won't get a chance to buy the clothes until June 7, Fab's got a sneak peek of the line. The clothes are a bit tamer than some of the fabulous get-ups she's known to wear, but don't think that SJP is above wearing her budget wares -- we saw her out in one of the dresses last week!

This weekend turned out to have something for everyone in terms of award shows. While The Grammys and The BAFTAS seemed to have stolen the show so to speak in terms of flash and star power, it's also important to remember who makes it all happen. The writers! Without them there would be no movies to watch or songs to sing. Luckily they have their day to shine as well and shine they did at the Writers Guild Awards Friday in NY. The two big winners of the night were Little Miss Sunshine and The Departed. Guess this narrows the race for The Oscars a bit.
