Nicole Kidman joined her Nine costars Penelope Cruz, Marion Cotillard and Kate Hudson yesterday for a Vogue photo shoot with Annie Leibovitz in Malibu. Penelope was the only one dressed for the beach, while Nicole accessorized her floor length red gown with an old-timey parasol. We're only 3 days away from Sunday's Oscars, and current nominee Penelope was lucky to have past winners Nicole and Marion close by in case she needed any tips on her acceptance speech. Tom Cruise spent his Sunday with Connor enjoying NASCAR at the Daytona 500 in Daytona Beach, Florida. The superstar and longtime fan of the sport took a spin in one of the cars and had some affectionate moments with Connor. Elsewhere Keith Urban was performing and apparently Nicole Kidman's current and past husbands had a moment and shared a few laughs. The Grammys may seem like one of the longest shows of Award Season, but last night they mixed it up with some exciting performances. The show kicked off with U2 starring Bono, but the absence of Chris Brown and Rihanna was quickly felt. Justin Timberlake, Al Green, Keith Urban and Boyz II Men all stepped in to form a hodge podge second performance of the night while the young couple dealt with assault allegations and drama. Total highlights included Jay-Z on stage with Chris Martin and the "Swagger Like Us" performance with incredibly pregnant MIA. They looked like they were having so much fun. While Robert Plant and Alison Krauss took home some of the biggest awards John Mayer and Coldplay took home statues too - check out all the winners here.

Gwyneth looked hot introducing Radiohead while Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus sweetly collaborated to sing Swift's new single. Kanye and Estelle sounded fabulous before similarly named Adele won Best New Artist. Jennifer Hudson left the room choked up during her acceptance speech and strong performance. Keith Urban looked handsome on stage a few times - including the performance with John Mayer, BB King and Buddy Guy as a tribute to Bo Diddley - in between moments beside Nicole Kidman in their seats. The Jonas Brothers took the stage with Stevie Wonder just one of the pairings that kept this year's Grammys interesting.

Nicole Kidman and Daniel Day-Lewis were joined on the Rome set of Nine yesterday by a fresh from London Penelope Cruz. Daniel and Nicole tried to stay warm as they filmed late into the night, though Penelope was slightly luckier to be working in the still chilly-looking afternoon. It's just the latest stop on the globe for jetsetting Penelope, though she shouldn't be expected to stay in Italy too long since the Oscars luncheon is happening on Monday in LA.

Liev Schreiber took Alexander to the park earlier today while Naomi Watts ran some errands around LA. Liev's been promoting Defiance, but now it's Naomi's turn to start the interview circuit for her film The International. She recently spoke to Parade about getting advice from Nicole Kidman, how she met Heath Ledger, and whether marriage to Liev is a possibility. Here are some highlights:

• On remembering when she met Heath: "I hadn't really been that familiar with his work. Then, when I got to the set and did that first scene with him, I was like, 'Wow! This guy is alive.' It was just something deep in his eyes. You could look into them, and they would tell a thousand stories in one glance. There was a wonderful mixture of power and fragility at work in everything he did, which just pulls you in. His strength didn't scare you. It intrigued you. And his fragility touched you [...] It's still incredibly difficult."
• On Liev: "I started out living in LA, and then I met this guy who hates LA! He’s a complicated man, which I’ve always been drawn toward in men. He’s fiercely intelligent."
• On her thoughts about marriage: "It's not like I’ve grown up having this dream of a fairy-tale wedding. My mother married twice and had two divorces. And Liev comes from the same kind of background. Maybe one day we’ll just wake up and go, 'Hey, let's do this.' And maybe not. He and I have a family. We're very much together. We just don't have that certificate, and that's okay with both of us. He gave me a beautiful ring, although I'm not wearing it right now."

It is always sad to hear about Heath from his friends, but Naomi seems happy and busy in her life right now with her three special boys.

Nicole Kidman was at her Nashville home last week after traveling the world to promote Australia. She and Keith were out to pick up coffees at Starbucks last Tuesday after a workout, but they were all cleaned up for a special dinner date on Wednesday. By Thursday, they were dressed up in black to bring their daughter Sunday to her very first Christmas mass — which was hopefully just the first step in Nicole's perfectly planned holiday weekend for their family.
