California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger has appointed former talk show host Leeza Gibbons to the board of trustees that oversees the state's stem cell agency.
"What if we demand a recount," she asked Tuesday when she learned that she and her professional partner, Tony Dovolani, would be eliminated from the ABC dance-off.

The former "Entertainment Tonight" host was voted off of "Dancing with the Stars" Tuesday night after landing near the bottom of the leader-board after Monday's performance show, where her painfully stiff paso doble garnered a weak 16 from the judges.
Only NBA star Clyde Drexler impressed the judges less, getting a 15 for a waltz that Bruno Tonioli said had less romance than Donald Trump and Rosie O'Donnell.
"Dull, dull, dull," judge Len Goodman told Gibbons after her performance with partner Tony Dovolani to "You Give Love a Bad Name," obviously referring to her leaden footwork and not the skimpy leather-inspired getup she donned for the occasion.
"What if we demand a recount?" the TV personality joked after learning the Bon Jovi tune had been her swan song.
Fresh off supermodel Paulina Porizkova's inaugural elimination, former Miss USA Shandi Finnessey became the second contestant voted off "Dancing With the Stars" Tuesday.
"This was such a great experience," she said after her ousting. "I honestly can't speak highly enough of everyone. The whole experience, the cast, all the other dancers, it was an amazing experience."
Of her dancing partner, Brian Fortuna, Finnessey said she simply hopes she "didn't disappoint him."
The former beauty queen found herself in the bottom two for the second week in a row before learning her fate. She was accompanied in the bottom of the barrel position with "Tramp" stamped Leeza Gibbons and her partner Tony Dovolani.
