While the show is still in limbo due to the writers' strike, the good news that there have been "breakthroughs" in negotiations keep us hoping that all will be good well before the red carpet kicks off. 2008 Award Season staples Javier Bardem and Casey Affleck were back in suits alongside Juno's Diablo Cody and Ellen Page (who still looks a tad uncomfortable on the red carpet). Nominee and lunch-er George Clooney seemed similarly optimistic, saying, "I think it's got a good shot at it, and I think it's a great sign. It looks very good...I've never crossed a picket line, and would never. I belong to six unions, so it makes it hard." Though he didn't seem too confident about his chances in the Best Actor category, saying about Daniel Day Lewis, "He screws the whole thing up because he's so good." The Oscars are less than a month away, who's excited?
