Into The Woods - Broadway - Nancy Dussault - "Last Midnight"

Here's the replacement Witch of Nancy Dussault on Broadway back in 88-89. She starred with much of the original cast - less Joanna Gleason (replaced by Cynthia Sikes). I rather liked her performance. Certainly was better than her "name" predecessor, Ms. Rashad... in my opinion.

1984 Tony Awards: Sondheim

This is a clip of part of Stephen Sondheim's tribute at the 1984 Tony Awards. Keep an eye out for the wonderful Anita Morris. She does a few seconds of "You Gotta Get A Gimmick" and she moves like nobodies business. Also look for Larry Kert, Beth Howland, Robert Guillame, Tony Randall, Nancy Dussault and Tony Roberts. And Robert Preston! How could I forget Robert Preston.

Follies - Michigan Opera - Ron Raines - "Too Many Mornings"

This video shows the wonderful performances of Ron Raines & Nancy Dussault from the Michigan Opera Theatre's production of
Sondheim's Follies in October 1989. Raines, best known for his Guiding Light soap opera role, has perhaps the perfect leading man/musical voice - and why we've not seen him more on B'way is the question... If you don't have his two solo albums, run - don't walk - to get them. Dussault, returning to the stage after her TV run on "Too Close for Comfort" - is a touching, nicely sung Sally. Wasn't a bad Into the Woods Witch, either. That video I'll post another day.
