Opera singer Luciano Pavarotti dead
Hello! I'm Kristin Volk in for Rebecca Field on this Thursday, September 6, 2007 with a UPI Entertainment Headline.
Famed opera tenor Luciano Pavaratti has lost his battle with cancer. The 71-year-old died yesterday in Italy. Pavaratti retired from the opera stage three years ago, but was on a farewell tour of concerts when he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer last year.
The 33 American Film Festival of Deauville (Doe-vil) continues this week with appearances by actors like Ben Affleck and his brother Casey. The brothers were in Deauville, France yesterday for their film, "Gone, Baby, Gone," in which Ben Affleck makes his directorial debut. Actress Jennifer Westfeldt was also at the festival with her film, "Ira and Abby." The event runs through Sunday.
Model Alek Wek greeted fans at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York yesterday. She was there to sign copies of her book, titled "Alek: From Sudanese Refugee to International Supermodel." Ebony Magazine hosted the event. In 1991, Wek's family reportedly fled to Britain to escape the civil war between the Muslim North and the Christian South of the Sudan.
Actress Jenna Fischer and her husband have reportedly split. The star in NBC's show The Office has been married to writer and director James Gunn for the past six years. In a statement, Fischer thanks her fans for their support and apologizes for any pain this has caused family and friends.
Actor Jude Law is required to return to a London-area police station next month after being arrested yesterday. Law allegedly got into a scuffle with a photographer outside of his London home. The Alfie movie star was taken into custody when he reportedly tried to grab a photographer's camera. He was released on bail yesterday.

Natalie Talson Canada's Next Top Model CNTM
Natalie Talson was a contestant on the first cycle of Canada's Next Top Model. Having already worked with the creme de la creme of photographers, clients and agencies in New York, Paris, Milan and London (where she was signed to Storm Models alongside the likes of Kate Moss, Alessandra Ambrosio, Alek Wek, Cindy Crawford, Elle Macpherson, Oluchi, Lily Cole etc.) Natalie entered the competition at what was already the end phase of her somewhat short but successful career. Critisized for no longer having the ideal model frame, 6'1 Natalie nonetheless enchanted the show's judges and audience with her deep, sensitive and beautiful soul, her compassionate nature and her gently poetic insights and intellect.
