A Carol Lynley Compilation by Nelson Aspen
A couple years ago, I threw a dinner party for my pal Carol's birthday and as a party favor made this little clip reel for the guests. Disappointed with her current representation on YouTube, I decided to post this for all the enthusiastic Lynley lovers out there...I hope you enjoy!

BUNNY LAKE IS MISSING [TRAILER]
Theatrical trailer for Otto Preminger's 1965 mystery "Bunny Lake is Missing" starring Carol Lynley, Keir Dullea, Noel Coward and Laurence Olivier. Trailer hosted by Preminger. This fascinating mystery has been made in the tradition of Otto Preminger's classic "Laura", that established him as a top director in the late Forties. Since it would not be fair to spoil the film by revealing much of the story and particularly the ending, let's say only that Bunny Lake is a small girl, who turns up missing in London. At least, so her mother says. "Bunny Lake is Missing" is handsome, well- acted (especially by Sir Laurence Olivier and Carol Lynley - possibly her best performance) and exciting a slick melodrama from an exceptionally well-written screenplay by Penelope Mortimer, and a memorable music score by Paul Glass and The Zombies. Creamy smooth suspense with a genuinely intriguing premise. Written by filmfactsman.

The Carpenters - Eve
In the liner notes for "From The Top," Richard explains how he and John Bettis wrote "Eve."
"Eve" written in 1968, was inspired by an episode of a suspense anthology that was on TV at the time. Different stories were featured each week with a variety of guest stars. One starred Carol Lynley and was entitled "Eve." This triggered in me the opening lines both lyrically and musically, after which I completed the melody and John did likewise with the lyrics.
========================================
"Eve" was the first episode of a British suspense anthology television series called "Journey to the Unknown. The story occupies the half-world between reality and madness. It involves a department store window dresser named Albert Baker, who has fallen in love with a store-window mannequin.
To Albert, "Eve" is a real person, but his love is threatened when she is doomed to be destroyed with other discarded mannequins.
Was "Eve" ever anything but a store mannequin? Or did she really come to life for Albert? Listen to the song and watch the video, and make up your own mind...
Eve
(Words and music by John Bettis and Richard Carpenter)
Eve, I can't believe That you could mean What you just said Think of what you are How very far you are from being real
Look into the mirror Nothing's there to see Eve, I can't believe You'd really leave him
Notice how her image saddens How lonely she's become Just once I'd like to see her happy Before the winter comes
Eve, I wouldn't lie The open sky is not your home Wide as it may be Reality is here among the stones
Thorns among the roses Add to what is real Eve, you are a rose Among the thorns here
Notice how her image saddens How lonely she's become Just once I'd like to see her happy Before the winter comes
I wish her only good times Before the winter comes

Neon Signs
Abandoned by his mother at a rundown roadhouse motel, Otis (Matt Dotson) sets off on his own armed with a compass and a dream of the neon lights of Las Vegas.
He soon encounters Faith (Carol Lynley) and Grace (Barbara McNair), two Thelma and Louise like ladies on a cross country crime spree, and Otis goes along for the ride.
They rendez-vous with Clyde (William Smith), a Kansas City con man planning one last big score...the ripping off a high stakes poker game.
The road trip turns into a game of cross and double cross as his new found friends run out of gas...and time.
Blood and bullets fly as Otis comes full circle, alone again on the ride of his life.
