En el viaje anual de pesca, en un aislado lugar en el campo, Stewart, Carl, Rocco y Billy encuentran el cuerpo de una chica en el río. Es tarde ya para que volver a la carretera e informar del trágico hallazgo.
A la mañana siguiente en vez de emprender la larga caminata de regreso, deciden pasar el día pescando. La decisión de quedarse pescando es un poco extraña, como si el propio lugar ejerciera algún tipo de influencia sobre ellos.
Cuando finalmente vuelven a casa e informan del suceso el infierno se desata. Sus mujeres no entienden como han podido seguir allí pescando con el cuerpo de la chica allí mismo, ella necesitaba su ayuda.
Claire, la mujer de Stewart es la última en enterarse. Mientras los detalles se van filtrando y Stewart se resiste a hablar del asunto, Claire se siente desconcertada. Hay una crueldad en todo el asunto que la perturba profundamente. Stewart no cree que haya hecho nada malo. La fe de Claire en su matrimonio se ve sacudida hasta los cimientos.

The Savages - Red Carpet UK Premiere
London: 20:30 Mon 29 October 2007
This first of the darker wintry nights after the clocks drop an hour, brought the delightfully warm and sunny smile of Laura Linney to this premiere. She spent lots of time with fans and press, signed many things, posed, returned and posed again. Signing a student-tourist's course-notes book was a bit unusual though. Director Tamara Jenkins couldn't be persuaded to come see the fans so next time we'll yell more.

Making-Of The Nanny Diaries - In theaters August 24th!
"The Nanny Diaries" tells the story of the emotional and often humorous journey of Annie Braddock (Scarlett Johansson), a young woman from a working-class neighborhood in New Jersey, struggling to understand her place in the world. Fresh out of college, she gets tremendous pressure from her nurse mother to find a respectable position in the business world although Annie would prefer to trade in her blackberry for an anthropologist's field diary. Through a serendipitous meeting, Annie ends up in the elite and ritualistic culture of Manhattan's Upper East Side -- as remote from Annie's suburban New Jersey upbringing as life in an Amazon tribal village. Choosing to duck out of real life, Annie accepts the position as a nanny for a wealthy family, referred to as simply "the X's." She quickly learns that life is not very rosy on the other side of the tax bracket, as she must cater to the every whim of Mrs. X (Laura Linney) and her precocious son Grayer, while attempting to avoid the formidable Mr. X (Paul Giamatti). Life becomes even more complicated when Annie falls for a gorgeous neighbor of the X's (Chris Evans) who she nicknames Harvard Hottie, and is forced to explore what she wants to do with her life.
