Ruthless Blues - Interviewed by Pete Feenstra
This is a back stage interview with Ruthless Blues, filmed on the 3rd of March 2007 at the Boom Boom Club. Pete Feenstra talks to band members drummer Tony Fernandez (the band's long-time member who lives a parallel career as Rick Wakeman's drummer), vivacious front man, and blues DJ Steve "Retro" Smith (Salt, Long John Baldry; Joanne Kelly and a chart topper with Bad Manners) busy session bass man Andy Herbert (Dee Dee Bridgewater, Working Week, Eddie Reader), and fiery guitarist and former Ruthless bass player Martyn Taylor.
With a 28 year history including members such as two Yardbirds Jim McCarty, John Knightsbridge, various stellar bass players Pete Rees (Gary Moore) Peter Stroud (Peter Green) & Paul McCallum (Dana Gillespie), plus American harp star Johnny Mars, Ruthless Blues have a colourful history.
With the release of the historic "Ruthless Blues, Live at the Torrington" CD on Mystic records, this seemed a timely opportunity to get the band down on tape!
