Lainie Kazan, who understudied Barbra Streisand in the original Broadway production of Funny Girl and who has been so wonderfully hilarious in such parts as Bette Midler's mother in Beaches, Fran Drescher's aunt in The Nanny, co-starring with Divine in Lust in the Dust, and Nia Vardalos in My Big Fat Greek Wedding, not to mention guesting as Jerry Stillers love interest in King of Queens, and as Aunt Honey on Will and Grace, is looking (and sounding) HOT here in an old Aqua Velva commercial, and a couple of added pictures at the end.

Here are two songs that Lainie Kazan sang on the Dean Martin Show. The first is "I Loves You, Porgy" (From George Gershwin's "Porgy and Bess") in which she shows a classic bent (and a classic profile reminiscent of the person for whom she was probably understudying when she sang this....)
The second clip is her singing the Judy Garland classic "The Trolley Song" from "Meet Me In St. Louis" (and sporting quite the tan)

Here's the very talented Lainie Kazan with an exquisite version of the Leslie Bricusse song "When I Look In Your Eyes." The song is from the 1967 movie Dr Dolittle. In the movie, the song is Rex Harrison's serenade to a seal, but here Lainie sings it in her own distinctive style which is absolutely beautiful - I hope the montage of pictures does it justice.

Michael Constantine is Gus, Lainie Kazan is Gus' wife Maria, a hard charging Greek dynamo female, the bright Nia Vardalos is Toula, John Corbett is Ian Miller her spouse. Andrea Martin is aunt Voula.
This is the wedding reception and Gus' speech. Gus is convinced most words of the English language have Greek roots, such as arachnophobia for example, fear of spiders. The challenge is to find the Greek root of the word Miller. Gus, rises to the occasion, sort of.
Joel Zwick directed and Nia Vardalos wrote the story.
