Toto - Rosanna (Live)
"Rosanna" is a hit song by 1980s rock band Toto, the opening track from the 1982 album Toto IV. Rosanna won a Record of the Year Grammy Award.
The song is about the actress Rosanna Arquette who dated the Toto keyboard player Steve Porcaro. However, the song was written by David Paich, the leader of Toto. He noticed how supportive Rosanna Arquette was of Porcaro. She often came to the recording studio, bringing the band food.
The B-side of the single was the song "It's a Feeling", also on the album Toto IV.
Art of Noise use a one second sample of Rosanna on their 1983 track "Beat Box (Diversion One)". Featured on both Who's Afraid of the Art of Noise? and Daft.

Desperately Seeking Susan MADONNA
Desperately Seeking Susan...Yup, no word of lie. I never actually realized what a good director Susan Seidelman was until the textbook broke down the film into such detail. I found out also that she has done a few other quirky but solid projects since. "Desperately Seeking Susan" became one of her biggest hits and a modern classic. This is a fun movie but it is also one with a fast paced story and clear direction.
Of course, best noted as Madonna's real debut in the movie business, not counting "A Certain Sacrifice" which was not a real studio release. With this one her star was riding high and she was praised for her turn in this funky comedy. She presented real poise and acting ability here, along with fellow co-star Rosanna Arquette who is actually the real star of the film and holds it all up brilliantly.
I think this movie is so successful because it was and still is so fun. During the entire running time there is a certain kind of energy present which makes you feel like anything can happen. The New York setting and 80's landscape contribute greatly to this, but without a certain more that the people involved brought to this movie it wouldn't have worked.
Definitely a movie for the population at large and not just Madonna enthusiasts. Rosanna Arquette also won for Best Supporting Actress at the British Academy Awards for her performance in this film, as well as being nominated for a Golden Globe.
