Wife of businessman claims battery, stalking

Miami Beach police arrested businessman James Andrew Furst -- felony stalking and misdemeanor battery charges -- for allegedly hitting and harassing his wife, Siboney Lo, a Chilean-born actress. They are now in divorce court.
Cops say it happened in their South Pointe Towers apartment -- prior to their divorce filings.
Furst allegedly pushed her against the wall and slapped her, bruising her arm. And, Detective Eliseo Zacarias says, he threatened her with deportation and involuntary hospitalization on mental health grounds -- stalking by harassment.
Furst, 38, filed for divorce last month. Lo, 27, whose real name is Myla Siboney Cortes Chavez, countersued.
Furst's divorce lawyer, Andrew Leinoff, says Lo is a drama queen who staged the episode. ''Probably the most bogus domestic violence claim that I've seen in years,'' Leinoff says.
From Officer Forest Lake's report: ``She got into an argument with [him] over his pornography fixation.''
Lake's report notes: ''Victim did not try to contact 911.'' She filed the report days later.
Her attorneys, Jonathan Davidoff and Aaron Resnick, say she didn't report it right away because she was scared and left town.
The couple married on Christmas 2003 at the Gables Estates home of his parents, Dr. A.J. and Elayne Furst.
Lo won ''best actress'' at the '03 Miami Latin Film Festival for her performance in El Leyton, also known as Until Death Do Us Part.
''A tragic tale of love, lust, friendship, betrayal and murder,'' says the movie synopsis on imdb.com.
He is out on $5,000 bond. Final divorce hearing is Monday. Arraignment is July 5.
