Sister of Jennifer Dale
Has one son, Will, with husband Peter Mansbridge.
Husband is the anchor of The National, a nightly news programme in Canada.
After years of dancing, stage productions, the occasional TV guest spots and movie parts, she was brought down to New York in 1987 to appear in an off-Broadway play. A role in the musical Pal Joey won her a Dora Mavor Moore Award as a best actress.
In 1983 she made her first appearance in the Stratford Festival. She worked on The Mikado and The Gondoliers, but had an unfortunate and quite embarrassing incident where she fell into an orchestra pit.
In 1965, she and her sister, Jennifer Dale, went to their first audition - together - got the job and have been acting ever since.
She was cast in Street Legal as Olivia Novak, it was this role that catapulted her to television stardom.
Worried about being typecast after years of playing the selfish and manipulative Olivia Novak on _"Street Legal" (1986)_ for six years, Cynthia accepted the role of Terry Lane in "Taking the Falls" (1995), but received little notice as the show was cancelled after only thirteen episodes.
