Shavonne Burleigh was born in Stillwater, Oklahoma, but grew up in Arlington, Texas. Raised by her mother, LaVonne, Shavonne was bitten by the showbiz bug at the early age of six. Shavonne studied dance locally and by age twelve she had appeared in several community theater productions. By age seventeen, Shavonne had won scholarships to Debbie Allen Dance Institute and Interlochen Center for the Arts, and had landed her first professional show singing and dancing at Six Flags Over Texas. Shavonne auditioned for national tours, in hopes of one day landing a gig on Broadway. But the competition was fierce and the jobs were scarce. She auditioned for hundreds of shows in the Dallas area. Everything from plays and musicals, to independent films and commercials and for two years wasn't cast in anything. But that all changed in 2003 when with a Coca Cola commercial as her only film credit, Shavonne made the move to Los Angeles to follow her dreams. Hollywood welcomed the newcomer with open arms. Her dance training helped her to land spots dancing on _"American Dreams" (2003)_, _Las Vegas (2003)_, and _Doggyfizzletelevizzle (2003)_, and she has appeared in several pilots, commercials, and music videos. Shavonne sais that Debbie Allen, and Audra McDonald inspire her to accomplish her goals, and commends them for helping pave the way for African American females interested in a professional career in the arts. Shavonne currently resides in Hollywood, California. She is represented by Diane Hooper of Star Craft Talent, and her manager is Will Boroski.
