Brkich's favorite hobbies are going out with her friends, dancing and just generally having fun. She's a member of Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority, where she was Vice President and New Member Coordinator. Is a graduate of Westminster College, where she earned a B.A. degree in Public Relations, minoring in Speech Communications. Her previous occupations while attending school included waitress, librarian assistant, swimming instructor, lifeguard and babysitter for her professor. Brought a journal and pen as her luxury item on "Survivor." Was on the Dean's list five consecutive times during college. Turned down Playboy, but posed for free in Stuff magazine's July 2001 issue. Her convertible's license plate bears the slogan "Srvivr 2". Is engaged to fellow Survivor All-Star Rob Mariano. Was the first Survivor winner to have beaten the "Survivor curse", in that she won a car and ultimately went on to be the sole Survivor in Survivor: All Stars. In previous Survivor installments, all the contestants who had won a car ultimately failed to become the sole Survivor. Ranked #93 in Stuff magazine's "102 Sexiest Women In The World" (2002) Her last name "Brkich" is Croatian. Named #73 on the Maxim magazine "Hot 100 of 2005" list. After winning 'Survivor: All-Stars' and marrying All-star survivor, Rob Mariano, she wrote the book 'Amber's Guide For Girls: Advice on Fame, Family, Fashion and More!' and had it published.
