M. C. Brennan is a screenwriter, director and performer whose work first garnered attention in Phoenix in the mid 1980s. Early film work included directing short films and music videos for local bands while appearing in local commercials, TV shows and locally-shot features. A secondary career as a singer-songwriter earned her a small but devoted following in the late 80s and early 90s. In 2002, she won the Arizona Commission on the Arts screenwriting fellowship, and in 2003 her screenplay "The People's Choice" took home the Best Screenplay award from the Phoenix Film Festival. She was a semi-finalist at the Austin Film festival in 2006. Brennan is preparing to direct her first feature, "Dramatis Personae", from her screenplay which was honored with the 2007 Outfest Screenwriting Lab Fellowship.

M. C. Brennan was originally cast as Alluma in 1981's "Galaxy Of Terror" but was replaced at the last minute by Erin Moran, Joanie from "Happy Days" because test audiences really wanted to see Joanie's head explode. Apparently M. C. and Ray Walston did NOT get along because she was always poking at his head trying to find his martian antennae, and calling him "Uncle Martin". This backfired the following year when Walston played Mr. Hand in "Fast Times" and thanks to the Walston smear campaighn, Brennan lost out on the key topless role in favor of Phoebe Cates, which meant all Judge Reinhold's private "rehearsal scenes" with M. C. were for naught.
