Toyah has always balanced her acting/TV work with a career as a rock singer. The band called "Toyah" were very successful, particularly in the UK, in the early 1980s. Toyah's unique voice, musical style, and personality contributed to her being voted Best Female Singer at the 1983 British Rock and Pop awards.
