Gretchen earned her M.F.A. in Theatre (Acting and Directing) from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1996. Since then, she had divided her attention between careers as an actress, director and academic. Gretchen has acted and directed for theatre, film, commercial film and opera. Her academic research has focused primarily on Theatre of the Absurd, Melodrama and Expressionism. Oddly enough, she's found that her studies of The Absurd are relevant to just about every role she's played! Gretchen's fortes are clumsy waitresses, Eurotrash secretaries, scary school mistresses, seizing shooting victims and trusty sidekicks.
