Kelsey Wedeen was born in San Francisco, California, but grew up in Los Angeles. She is the youngest of four girls in her family and the granddaughter of Frances Kavanaugh, one of "Old Hollywood's" biggest western screenwriters. Kelsey spent the majority of her youth in the gymnasium, training to be an Olympic gymnast, but she discovered her real passion when she was picked out by talent scouts to star in a Coke-a-Cola commercial opposite the famous gymnastics coach, Bella Carroli. She began to dedicate her life to studying the craft of acting, studying in both New York and Los Angeles. In 2002 she began working with California's "intimate theater" in Los Angeles, the Theatre of NOTE, where she appeared in several critically acclaimed plays such as "Drift," "The Towering Inferno, the Musical!", "The Poseidon Adventure, the Musical!", and "A Mulholland Christmas Carol" which received a "Best Comedy Ensemble" award from L.A. Weekly while touring throughout California in 2005. Her film career began with a lead in a horror movie called "Detour", in which she played a sardonic, wise cracking, "goth" teenager. After proving her weight as a "scream queen" she went on to book roles in several other horror films, such as the preacher's daughter in "Miner's Massacre" where she played opposite Jeff Conaway, Vernon Wells, Karen Black, and John Phillip Law, and the super sexy psych student in "Malpractice," as well as her latest role in the upcoming "Lake Dead" where she played the cute and bubbly "Kelli." Kelsey also appeared as the lead in an unsold television pilot called "Bel Air Diaries", was featured as an Irish bride's maid in the blockbuster comedy, "The Wedding Crashers," and starred in several ultra low budget independent films and shorts such as "Karma Chameleons," "Blonde," and her most recent, "Spreading the News" which she co-produced and starred opposite Jay R. Ferguson (of NBC's "Surface").
