Valisa was born Valisa Lynn Fischer on February 19, 1970 in Kalamazoo, Michigan to Nolan and Vicki Fischer. She has an older brother, Jon, and a younger sister, Justyne. She studied ballet, tap and gymnastics all throughout her formative years. Valisa graduated from Kalamazoo Loy Norrix High School in 1988 where she performed as a dancer and singer in musicals and played varsity volleyball and tennis. While attending Michigan State University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Advertising, Valisa began modeling. After graduating in 1992, Valisa continued her studies in Atlanta, Georgia at Portfolio Center where her emphasis was in Art Direction and Graphic Design. Upon her graduation in 1996, she began her career as an Art Director in New York City. While working at various advertising agencies, Valisa has managed to develop a second career in modeling and acting.
