Perhaps one of the most prolific animé character designers of the 1980s, Akemi Takada designed characters for the legendary Rumiko Takahashi when she worked on the "Urusei yatsura" (1981) and "Mezon Ikkoku" (1986) animated TV series, as well as most of the Urusei yatsura animated movies. She also worked on the very popular "Kimagure Orange Road" (1987) and the original TV series Kidô keisatsu patorebâ (1988) (V).
