Her parents divorced when she was 7 and she alternated between living in Turin, Italy (with her mother), and suburban Detroit (with her father). Graduated from Ferndale High in 1989 and ceased alternating location. Most notable role, Yitzhak in the Broadway production "Hedwig and the Angry Inch" was presented to her on a tiny slip of paper by agent in 1998. It said, "A man to be played by a woman. Surly, Jewish, Croatian. Ex-drag queen billed as Krystall Nacht, the Last Jewess of the Balkans." Attended the University of Michigan where she played a variety of roles including three different shows in which she played the Virgin Mary.
