Studied acting at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hannover (Hanover School of Music and Theater) from 1982 to 1986. First woman to play the character of "Death" in the "Jedermann" play at the Salzburg Theater Festival (2005). Supports several organizations such as "Aktionsbündnis Landminen" (fighting against land mines) and the "DS-Infocenter" (supporting people with down syndrome). Won a bronze medal at the 2004 Eurogames, a LGBT sporting event, in the 50m butterfly race in Munich. Being openly lesbian, she is an active Lesbian and Gay Rights Movement activist.
