Born in the Czech Republic and raised in Bratislava, Slovakia, Dagmar Edwards has spent 15 years as an internationally working actress. In 1989, after the communist wall had fallen, Dagmar successfully entered The University of Arts and Music in Bratislava, Slovakia, studying acting, Jose Limon's dancing technique and singing lessons coached by popular jazz singers. Dagmar graduated in 1996 with a Bachelors Degree in Dramatic Arts and Theatre Science. Throughout the 1990s Dagmar played live theater in a range of styles from Shakespearean, Russian drama and comedy to musicals and modern American drama. Dagmar is an accomplished violinist with over fifteen years of training to her credit. In the years to follow, she would find herself not only gracing the Shakespearean stage, but also the covers of magazines as she embarked on a flourishing modeling career. Successful modeling and theater work was followed by an established career in film and television. She made an early name for herself in the 1989 French film "From East to West". This led to other lead roles for Slovakian Television and film production work such as lead roles in 1990's "Mario Whistle", digital film Dostoyevsky's "Bad Joke", "Women's Department", "Lamp of a Poor Man", TV series "Big Heart", TV film "Albert, Albert" and much more. An impressive resume was building as her career grew into international film. Working with such talents as European director Peter Patzak staring in the "Es lebe die Liebe, der Papst und das Puff", German film "Der Ausbruch" directed by Mark Schlichter (1996, UFA-Fernsehproduktion GmbH); "Balko" (German TV series). Appearing with Mario Van Peebles in "Crazy Six", lead role in feature film "Thanks for a Good Morning" (Studio 7 Film Prague ) by Milan Steindler. Recent film credits include the independent feature "A Year and a Day", featuring Edoardo Ballerini, Fairuza Balk, Sean Gullette and Joshua Leonard.
